The Fall 2019 men’s shows are on-going in Paris, and the street style outside the venues is similarly as entertaining as the runways. whether it be models, influencers, or worldwide superstars sitting in the first rows, hypebeast style has essentially assumed taken over the City of Light—that is, bold ensembles chock-full of designer labels. (Think a Prada cap paired with a Balenciaga shirt and Gucci pants and, well, you get the point.) But leave it to Bella Hadid to show how the mark loving look should be possible in a more obvious way.
Yesterday, back in New York City, Hadid stepped out in her own interpretation of hypebeast style that matched the more peacock-like Paris showgoers. Think luxury, yet discreet luxury. Dressed in all black, she hit the boulevards in a cushioned puffer jacket by Prada, the only hint of a logo being the blue patch bearing the name on the front. She styled it with a minimal hoodie and trousers. On her feet, she diverted the chunkiness of Balenciaga’s Triple-S sneakers—a must for streetwear junkies—but chose a more under-the-radar brand instead, explicitly Naked Wolfe’s beautiful and colorful platforms. She also carried a tiny top-handle bag by Christian Dior, the monogramming, again, very discreet, and finished it off with her signature tiny shades and silver hoop earrings.
The takeaway? The freshest way to wear designer goods is completely subdued—as though you’re dressing for yourself, and not for throngs of photographers outside.
